Christmas, a dear sweet babe named Jesus and our little boy :)

We had our ultrasound yesterday (December 18th) and found out we are expecting a little boy! It's hard to believe still that all those little pictures were our little one, our little boy. He is so beautiful!

Here's some pictures:

He is perfect, as far as we know. The ultrasound tech didn't say there were any complications, but we haven't seen the doctor yet. The little guy wouldn't cooperate with the ultrasound (He had his little legs crossed and was sitting indian style the whole time), so we were lucky to get the sex. Since they couldn't really get a good look at the heart and at the spine, we're going back in for the rest of the ultrasound when we get back from Seattle- the day after. It will be the 30th of Dec, then on the 31st I'll have my appointment with the doctor to find out how everything's going. Should be pretty exciting!

Nick and I stayed up late pondering different names. :) Laughing and making up ridiculous names too. It was fun. Can't wait to hold him for the first time- can't wait to see his chubby cheeks and look at his little beautifulness.

This got me thinking about Jesus and Mary. (As it is Christmastime). Can you imagine being Mary, finding out you were having a baby and dealing with all these crazy changes without being asked? Experiencing morning sickness, dizziness, moodiness- having a tummy that gets HUGE to give birth to a miracle, the son of God? And Joseph too- pregnancy is a lot to deal with and he had to help his little fiance get through all of it- then to have her deliver in a hay filled barn! Ouch, couldn't be comfortable at all.

But when you get to hold the baby, the miracle and know that he is perfect and he is yours, I'm sure it's all suddenly worth it. It's all wonderful. Then to raise him to a man- to give him up to die for the sins of humanity, for your sins. I can't imagine all of that coming upon me, this is tough enough!

Mary, Jesus, it's all so beautiful and so wonderful. A sweet babe innocent in a cradle who would give it all for us. A sweet man who would live without sin so that he could blamelessly take on ours. What a gift.

Merry Christmas- thank you Jesus for our blessing and for your life.

Getting close

Right now I am 18 weeks and 4 days along, with a baby doing the gymnastics in my stomach. It's been really exciting to start feeling movements more definitively. When it first started I suspected it was the baby (only because I was constantly holding my breath hoping to feel it), and now there's no doubt in anyone's mind.

Nick got to feel the kick for the first time a few days ago, last night he felt a somersault. The little one is moving around like crazy in there- usually when I'm laying down just woken up or going to sleep. With the movements more real than ever, there's no doubt that we have a little one on the way.

We get to find out the sex on the 18th, only 8 days away. I can't wait, although I can at the same time. I'm hoping for a girl, but also hoping for a boy. Caution to future mothers- if you are hoping for anything specific, you will get sorely misjudged as someone who will be disappointed in the other.

If we are going to have a boy, I will be just as happy- however we do not have a boy name picked out yet so we would have to work on that. I honestly can't wait to find out so that I can start detailing out the nursery. If it's going to be a girl we have a lot of changes to make, if it's a boy- not as many but still changes to start on.

The stomach has been a really interesting thing to see changing too. Just because I've never had much chub and now it looks as if I do- or as if I don't depending on the day. If I eat before bed my stomach looks HUGE but if I snack all day and don't eat large meals I have this funny little alien stomach that makes me laugh. I'll have to get pictures soon here.

Anyway- the only things that are going on besides that is that Nick has been applying for new jobs. We aren't quite cutting it (to say the least) on this small salary of 9.75 an hour for two people. We also don't qualify for food stamps (by 50 dollars) which we sorely need, so we either need to make more money or rely on family to feed us, which doesn't work out all the time, hehe.

Medicaid has been awesome, taking care of doctors bills (besides the stupid flu shot which they didn't tell me wasn't covered!) uh oh! But as soon as Nick's salary goes up (which we need), we will have to be praying that his insurance for whatever company hires him will cover a pregnancy this far along. His current company will not- ridiculous if you ask me.

Anyway, we leave for seattle on the 21st till the 29th to spend time with Nick's family for Christmas. He has been homesick so hopefully it will be good to be there and not make it worse when we come back :).

Dunno what else is going on right now, just trying to be strong and keep our chins up while we battle finances and everything else. God is good and will help us through this, we're going to trust and rely on him.

God bless and happy holidays:D

Lately :))))

It's been so crazy feeling all these changes! Now that morning sickness is a lot better, mostly gone but spiking nauseousness once or twice a day- I feel more human, but who knew there was so many side effects?

First of all, I am unfortunately turning into a werewolf, no joke, I trimmed my blonde beard with Nick's trimmers yesterday. I also have an access of hair on my stomach. I guess this is a known side effect of pregnancy, should go away after the baby gets here... Hopefully! So embarrassing. Nick wanted me to talk to his parents yesterday and tell them how my pregnancy was going, but it was right at the moment I was feeling most horrified at my hairy condition. I said "What am I going to tell them, I'm turning into a werewolf and joining the circus as a bearded lady!" I was feeling harmonal haha.

With us being as low on money as ever, ever ever, we seem to have to sell something every month, so this laptop may become victim in the following months. Hopefully my brother can hook me up with an older PC with a printer for our family computer.

Oddly, I feel content. We kind of have decided to let the credit go if we have to, sadly, but it really is in God's hands at this point. I feel strongly that I need to stop worrying and give it to Jesus every day. Very strongly, and it's been the most peaceful I've been.. since being a child! God is such a comforter.

The baby is now 14weeks6days :). The size of a lemon :). I keep holding my breath at every little bubble in my tummy, trying to see if it's the baby. May or may not have felt anything, but when I do I will definitely post!

Well, got to get to cleaning today, may need to go steal my parents supplies :D

Lots of love and Jesus all over!

Where I'm at.
Well lets see, from the person 2 and a half years ago, I definitely have found a lot of changes. I've found that prayer works- which is awesome. I've also found the love of my life, a great a difficult moment! Difficult because it wasn't as easy as the fairy tales everyone tells you, it was difficult for everyone in different ways, mostly dealing with family and a huge change.
I went from living at home to falling in love and married living in an apartment. The wedding was beautiful, fun and my parents put all their effort into helping, as did my Nick's parents. We were married May 23rd 2009.
Then, early September we found out we were pregnant! The baby is due on May 09th 2010!
We are very excited, nervous and happy. There's a lot of fears and a lot of hopes, but mostly just anticipation. Can't wait to feel the little one kick for the first time! Now I am just one day under 14 weeks along! We'll find out if we are having a little girl or a boy just before Christmas!

Morning sickness was really rough, but it's beginning to ease up quite a bit going into 2nd trimester. I lost 10 pounds, but I also ended up getting sick and then throwing up because of that too!!! So now I am starting to crave food and I haven't puked in 2 days, it's a new record!!!

Anyway, so happy to be in love with a man who loves me right back.

So happy to love God!

Julia
